                                 If you thought contemporary worship introduced a huge change, wait until you hear about
                                 the current changes taking place.  The worship movement is maturing and beginning to
                                 develop a theology of worship.

10:15-10:45 a.m. - Break

10:45-12:00 noon- Session 2 - Robert Webber: "Biblical Worship Is Triune"
                                 We worship with the language of mystery; with the language of story; with the language
                                 of symbol.

12:00-  1:30 p.m. - Lunch (included in registration fee)

  1:30-  2:45 p.m. - Session 3 - Robert Webber: "Worship as a Narrative of Divine Action"
                                 Want to get away from "me-centered" worship? Then find out how true worship unleashes
                                 God's action. God acts, we respond. But what does God actually do in worship?

  2:45-  3:15 p.m. - Break

  3:15-  4:30 p.m. - Session 4 - Robert Webber: "Worship as a Narrative of Human Response"
                                 Once you have a grasp on what God does in worship, you can ask, "What do we do?"
                                 We respond, participate, interact. Find a new focus on how our actions in worship are not
                                 designed for self-satisfaction but for relationship with God and for building community.

                                 Worship must be integrated with all the ministries of the church. This session explores
                                 how ancient-future worship will reach out to bring people into the life of the community
                                 and make permanent disciples of Jesus.

10:15-10:45 a.m. - Break

10:45-11:45 a.m. - Closing Worship

12:00 noon           - Departure

Accommodations

This year's council meeting will again be held at the Sheraton Gateway Suites Chicago O'Hare Airport, 6501 N. Mannheim Rd., Rosemont, Illinois.  The hotel is adjacent to O'Hare International Airport and major freeways, so it is easily accessible.

We have secured a special rate of US$79.00 per night per room (normally renting for $150 per night!).  The suite arrangement allows for easy sharing of rooms.

Local Transportation

The Sheraton Gateway Suites provides a free shuttle service to and from Chicago O'Hare Airport.  When arriving at the airport, follow the signs for the Bus Shuttle Area.  You will be picked up at Door 3.  The shuttle runs every 20 minutes between 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight.  For pickup between midnight and 6:00 a.m., please contact the hotel.
