Newsletter Recognition
Within the week or month following the reception of a new member, include a blurb in your church newsletter about the person, aiding other members to become acquainted and encouraging further interaction. If possible, include a picture of the individual or family.

WHAT'S INVOLVED?
 | Recruit someone who can gather the information needed and write up a short blurb in an interesting way. |
| Ask the new member personally or through interview sheets the following: school or job status, hobbies, interesting things about him/her, how long ago he/she came to this congregation, what drew them, and what they especially enjoy about the church. |
DO'S AND DON'TS
| DO......share interesting facts about the person. |
| DO......review the final article with the person so they feel okay about it. |
| DO......it as soon as possible after he/she is received as a member. |
