Does Your Church Really Care about People?

Presented by James W. Moss, Sr.

About the Seminar

"Does your church really care about people?" is not a rhetorical question that anticipates a positive answer.  Each Christian church must truthfully respond to this question.

Caring is love in action.  Do the actions of your congregation demonstrate an attitude of caring in the church?

What exemplifies love in action?

  1. What ministry of affirmation is used by your church?
  2. What happens when a participant in your church misses seventeen weeks in a row?
  3. What happens when a visitor attends your church?
  4. What method does your church use to identify and pursue prospective members?

If you give a negative response to any of these four questions, your church may not care for people as much as you thought.

This one-day seminar will share a smorgasbord of the very latest practical ministry strategies to care for absentees, reach out to visitors, and identify and pursue prospects.  All of the ideas that will be presented have been successfully field-tested in a variety of settings.  They are ideas that are simple to implement.  Most could be instituted quickly and are of minimal cost.  Most importantly, they will communicate an attitude of caring to your people.  In such an impersonal age, it is important to care.

Benefits to Participants

  1. Five quality hours of instruction by a competent seminar leader.
  2. A variety of techniques that you can choose from to use for your church.
  3. 0.5 CEU credits.
  4. A chance to meet people from other traditions with similar problems.
  5. An on-site lunch.

An acquaintance has described Jim's work in this manner:  "One of Jim's strengths is his ability to speak the language of most folks in the pew.  There are elements of relational witness in his training.  Jim has made this his own unique understanding of how to preserve church membership.  His is a scholarly, multi-disciplined understanding and makes no apologies for a biblical foundation."
