About the Seminar

Renewing the church is a constant challenge. It doesn't take long for a church to lose its focus on the work of the Kingdom and concentrate on just oiling the machinery. How can that spark of life be rekindled?

This seminar is a unique combination of approaches to the subject. There are two very different presenters. Both have a passion for renewal. But the perspectives are different.

Dr. Sloat will be addressing biblical issues of renewal, and Rev. Moss will be addressing practical applications for bringing new life to old churches. Each will present half of each session.

The Presenters

William A. Sloat II received his B.A. from Elizabethtown College, his M.Div. from Evangelical Shcool of Theology, and his M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Drew University. He is currently pastor of Faith Community Church of God in Denver, PA. His pastoral experience has been in renewal projects. Bill serves on the Commission on Renewal. He is a devoted NASCAR Nextel Cup fall. He roots for #12.

James W. Moss Sr. is a graduate of Findlay College and Winebrenner Theological Seminary. Jim's pastoral experience was all in renewal projects. He has written several books including People Spots, Does Your Church Care about People, and Churches Have Personalities. Jim is also the author of the widely circulated "People Spots" newsletter. He is an experienced seminar leader, having conducted hundreds of seminars with thousands of participants over the past 20 years. Seminars have been conducted in 20 denominations and 21 states. Jim has developed six major seminars:

Prior to that he served as a parish pastor for eighteen years in Ohio and Maryland.
